A YTK (Yetkilendirilmiş Tüzel Kişi — Authorized Legal Entity) is a legal entity authorized to prepare the reports, projects and technical documents that must be produced under Mining Law No. 3213 and submitted to the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG).

As a YTK, we help ensure that mineral exploration and operating activities are carried out in line with technical, scientific and regulatory requirements, and we prepare the technical reports, projects and engineering studies that licence holders need within the framework of the relevant legislation. Duties and Responsibilities of a YTK

As a YTK, we take part in planning, preparing and submitting to the relevant authorities the technical studies that licence holders require within the scope of their exploration and operating activities. Our work is carried out with contributions from specialists in mining, geology, survey, geophysics, geotechnical, hydrogeology, environmental and other related engineering disciplines.

Our principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Exploration activities and the preparation of exploration activity reports
  • Preparation of operating projects and project revisions
  • Preparation of the technical reports and projects required under the licence
  • Geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological studies for mining sites
  • Studies for the assessment of mineral resources and reserves
  • Preparation of production maps, cross-sections and the required technical drawings
  • Preparation of environmental rehabilitation plans and the related technical studies
  • Technical review of production activities and operating data
  • Preparation of the reports, projects, information and documents to be submitted to MAPEG
  • Follow-up of the application and documentation procedures required within licensing and technical processes

The work carried out by a YTK can cover different stages of a mining licence, from exploration through to operating activities. Depending on the scope of the project and the characteristics of the site, the required engineering services are identified, the relevant studies are prepared and the processes are conducted in accordance with the applicable legislation.

As a YTK, we take into account the specific conditions of each licence and each mining site, and we handle the collection, assessment, reporting and submission of the necessary technical data as a single, integrated process.

The Role of a YTK in Geothermal Projects

YTKs contribute to the technical and administrative processes not only of activities carried out under mining licences, but also of projects for the exploration, development and operation of geothermal resources.

For a geothermal project to progress successfully, the resource potential must be determined correctly, the technical studies must be carried out in compliance with the legislation, and the required permitting processes must be planned properly.

The principal studies that can be carried out under a YTK in geothermal projects:

  • Technical studies for geothermal exploration licences and licensing processes
  • Determination and assessment of geothermal resource potential
  • Joint evaluation of geological, hydrogeological and geophysical data
  • Review and reporting of data obtained from drilling operations
  • Technical assessments of geothermal wells
  • Preparation of resource and reserve studies

In the use of geothermal resources, it is important not only to determine the existing resource but also to establish its sustainable production capacity. This requires geological and hydrogeological data, drilling results, well tests and production data to be evaluated together.
